Las Positas College

LPC is where we have our seminars and do on-site support jobs and training. For more information about LPC itself, visit the website using the appropriate link at the top of the page. Below is a list of services we typically provide to LPC with LaPTechS students as our staff.

  • Run on-campus help-desk and provide excellent customer service to clients over the phone and in person.
  • Create and manage work orders using service forms and support databases.
  • Assess and troubleshoot computer, network, and printer problems on campus.
  • Troubleshoot and provide maintenance for student, faculty, and staff personal computers and peripherals.
  • Assist with maintenance of various computer labs when needed.
  • Create brochures, flyers, spreadsheets, presentations, databases, websites, and other business administrative projects for various clients and programs.
  • Maintain and develop in-house training for students to acquire skills needed for working off-site and in the industry.

Pleasanton Unified School District

We also provide off-site support to a number of schools at PUSD. Currently, we are stationed at Foothill High School and Walnut Grove Elementary. If you have a good technical background and your own transportation then please discuss working off-site with Leslie or the mentor who handles the off-site contracts when signing up for your regular work shifts. You can still work off-site with little or no technical background, but it is recommended that you review the technical training modules beforehand. All off-site students need to obtain a temporary badge from the PUSD central office before working working at one of these sites. Below is a list of services we typically provide these sites with off-site LaPTechS students as our staff, in addition to links to Yahoo! Maps driving directions using LPC as a point of reference for your convenience.

  • Assess and troubleshoot computer (PC and Mac) and network problems.
  • Provide maintenance and troubleshooting for network printers and print servers.
  • Create computer images and reimage computers when needed.
  • Assist with the deployment of new computers, printers, and related equipment.
  • Manage work orders completed by LaPTechS on PUSD support database.
  • Provide technical advice, consultation, and customer training.
